Alongside studying Natural Sciences Emma decided to try rowing in Michaelmas 2019 as she couldn’t resist trying rowing at Cambridge! After novicing in NW1 she was completely addicted and even began to embrace the early starts. That Lent she then rowed as stroke in W3 and also completed her first set of bumps. Even though this left her bumps record at down 2 she celebrated at BCD as if she won headship and it was then inevitable that she became NCBC Social Sec in 2020-2021! Since then she has rowed in W1 and although she hasn’t had the opportunity to row in bumps since Lent 2020 she loved rowing and winning races in the June Eights Regatta held in 2021. She is now NCBC’s Water Safety and Equipment Officer.
