Amy Rowe

Amy is a Classicist who matriculated, and joined NCBC, in 2019. She noviced in N2 and immediately fell in love with rowing. In Lent 2020 she rowed with the 1st VIII, introducing her signature free speed plaits to the whole crew! Her infectious enthusiasm then led her to become one the Lower Boats’ Captains for 2020-2021.

After an interesting, COVID-ridden start to the role, she finally managed to get some novices in real boats and quickly got them racing with plaits in their hair. This proved to be a winning tactic as N1 had a very successful set of races in the June Eights Regatta!

Throughout the chaos of being an LBC during a pandemic, she also rowed in the 1st VIII. You might dare to think her obsession for rowing stops there but you’d be wrong – she was also one of NCBC’s Captains for 2021-2022. She rowed with the 1st VIII in Michaelmas and Lent, and the 2nd VIII in Easter.

She can’t quite get away, as she continues to be part of the NCBC family in 2022-23 as one of the coaching team.
